Ellie Lawrenson

A tribute to Ellie from her Mummy and her Daddy. Ellie's name means light and that is what she was
the light of our lives our perfect daughter, a perfect big sister to Joshua and now one of gods
perfect angels. Ellie touched our hearts in away we shall never forget and the five years we have
had her were so memorable and precious and we will be forever thankful that god chose us to be her
parents. She came into our world on 31st October 2001 a Halloween baby weighing in at a delicate 7lb
2 and a half ounces. Born at Whiston hospital it seemed she was in a rush to meet us as Lindseys
labour only lasted 20 minutes. From day one she was a good baby, a girl who loved her dummy and her
cuddly toys. At 4 weeks she smiled at us for the first time, and as everyone with children knows its
one of many milestones that you always remember as a parent. Of course the others were her sitting
up at 5 months which she was quite happy to do till well after first birthday and it was only then
she took her first tentative steps. When Ellie was 2 she started busy bears the nursery. The name
seemed appropriate Ellie was always on the go. At nursery she met a best friend called Lucy and it
was the friendship that made the transision of leaving mum and dad for a few hours a little easier,
her tears soon dried up. When Ellie went to big school which is what we called Tower College at the
age of 4 she was always a popular little girl. She was in the nursery class taught by miss connolly
and her school report for the first year reads as follows. Ellie aged 4 years 5 months Spring term.
Following a tearful start Ellie has settled into a daily routine and made friends. She can recognise
her name and she tries with her work but must avoid temptation to rush. Ellie aged 4 years 9 months
Summer term. Ellie has made steady progress this term. Her hand control has improved and she is
beginning to write independently. Ellie aged 5 years 2 months Autumn term taught by miss Bingly.
Ellie is developing self confidence she is a popular member of the class and she tries with her
reading. She is making pleasing progress with her letter information and can count from numbers 1 to
20. In science and humanties she shows interest. She likes to listen to stories and enjoys painting,
and she tries hard in p.e. with ball skills. Ellie also enjoys all aspects of music. So you see
Ellie was doing well at school. She was very happy and outgoing, she had a new best friend again
called Lucy and Ellie was known by some as the kissy girl. We wont say for obvious reasons but she
did have a passion for changing her boyfriends or better still having more than one boyfriend at the
same time. Little friends that Ellie spoke about often and indeed played with were Olivia, Lucy,
Caitlin and her cousin Nicole. And Caitlin told her mummy that she would always miss Ellie and that
she is sad without her and she misses having Ellie to dressup and play with. And that is just one of
the many sentiments we have received about our daughter and it shows us that. Ellie touched our
lives and the lives of other people. Everyone just loved her. She was special in a way that is
beyond belief. She was a little character she could literally light up a room by being in it. She
was bubbly, always wanting to dance and sing for her Mummy and Daddy, she loved the music of Beyonce
and the Kooks and anything from Disney movies the most. And we cherish the little videos we took of
her on those occasions. Ellie was mischevious, we have lost count of the little tricks she used to
play on us Like hiding Mummys shoes singing the theme tune to jaws to scare her Daddy, switching the
lights on and off again to scare her Daddy the list is endless. Ellie was imaginative, she loved to
dress up be it in anything sparkly and pink or whether it be any character from Disney with the
little mermaid being her most favourite. She also liked dressing up in her mummys shoes and putting
mummys make up on. Which by the way she hadn`t quite perfected and could end up making herself look
like a beautiful little clown, and her imagination new no bounds she even invented a new name and
personality calling herself Racheal from Los Angeles. She was so cute and funny. Ellie loved her
life, she was never happier than when she was off to toys r us with her Daddy. Or when she was
playing with her barbies, or her teddies or when she was watching her d v d`s particularly the lion
king, the little mermaid and brother bear or even when she was on the computer on the c b b`s
website or the Disney playhouse. She was so funny with the computer often timing her dad on it so
that she could get on it next. You can have 5 more minutes Daddy then I will have 5. She would say.
Although as she couldn`t really tell the time she never thought her 5 minutes was up and would hog
it for hours. Ellie had just taken up horseriding at the burrows lane stables and she was doing just
great. And of course she had not long ago become a big sister. Ellie was so funny with Joshua. She
was sometimes like a mother to him, always wanting to help us change or bath him. And to think when
she went for the scan with her Mummy and they found out he was a boy Ellie was none too pleased. She
had wanted a sister. But when the nurse pointed out that if Mummy had another girl Ellie would have
to share her toys with her suddenly a little brother was very acceptable. Indeed so much so it was
Ellie who rang her Daddy to break the news to him that Mummy was having a little boy. And so our
family was complete. Our beautiful daughter was so sensitive, so caring, so inquisitive, and a
complete chatterbox and we wouldn`t have changed a single thing about her. So many hearts were
broken the day she fell asleep. So many tears have been shed for her. The pain and the loss we will
always keep. And now our little bright star shines down on us. We know it is Ellie sending her love.
The star will shine. The rain will fall. The sun will beam. Our Ellie will be in our every dream.
Play little darling in the garden of light. Your every rainbow will be our delight. Ellie thankyou
for being part of our lives you have made an impact in this world and you will be long loved and
never be forgotten. Sleep tight in heaven angel you have earned your wings and they are truly
